Steven Wilson, MD, is a board certified and fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery who specializes in total joint replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder, as well as minimally invasive arthroscopic treatment of sports-related injuries. He brings years of experience utilizing innovative techniques to provide an individualized approach in caring for patients.

Dr. Wilson’s area of clinical interest includes the use of technologies such as robotic assisted surgery for minimally invasive total hip replacement, direct anterior hip replacement, and knee replacement. He was the first surgeon in the North Texas area to train and perform robotic total joint replacement. His specialty training and experience allows him to perform hip, knee, and shoulder joint replacement, complex revision joint replacement, and infected total joint replacement.

Dr. Wilson graduated medical school with academic honors and top of his class from Texas Tech University Health Science Center. His interest in orthopedics was primarily driven by his involvement in athletics. He specialized in orthopedics after realizing it offered the possibility of medical and surgical management of sports related problems. His orthopedic surgery training was at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he was fortunate to train with pioneers and world-renowned experts in joint replacement, shoulder disorders, and sports medicine.

Dr. Wilson has extensive experience treating sport related injuries in all ages including youth, collegiate, weekend warriors, and senior athletes. He has worked and trained with a variety of sports programs including youth sports, team physician for high schools, collegiate athletes, and with the University of Texas basketball and baseball programs.

Dr. Wilson provides non-operative and operative treatment for sports related injuries including the shoulder and knee. Treatments include primary and revision ACL reconstruction utilizing advanced techniques including minimally invasive ACL reconstruction and quadriceps-based graft ACL reconstruction, repair and reconstruction of knee cartilage injuries, evaluation and repair of shoulder rotator cuff and labrum injuries.
