If you have been to OSTC lately, you have probably noticed our new ellipticals, which are available for use by both our wellness and therapy clients. These new ellipticals are from PreCore Fitness and feature an interactive touchscreen console that allows users to watch T.V. while working out. The PreCore Ellipticals also feature a patented CrossRamp. This state of the art technology allows the exerciser’s footpath to converge naturally, similar to running and walking. Exercisers can also increase the difficulty of the workout by using the moving handlebars or adjusting the ramp incline. Users can isolate or crosstrain specific lower body muscle groups simply by adjusting the angle of the ramp, making it easy to target different muscle groups, encourage training variance and propel results.
For most parents and athletes, June marks the beginning of summer, but for local coaches and athletic trainers it is the time to prepare for next years competitions. OSTC offers annual coaches training to help keep our coaches up to date with UIL mandated protocols. This training includes CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross and Concussion Training from the UIL. The athletic trainers and physical therapists at OSTC set aside one day a year to provide this free training to the schools served by OSTC’s sports medicine staff. To help make coaches training a little more interesting, OSTC also provides our coaches with breakfast, lunch and a fun afternoon of golf or pedicures. This is a day to get to know the coaches of the schools we service and develop trusting relationships. Schools serviced by OSTC’s sports medicine staff are Burkburnett ISD, Holliday ISD, Hennrietta ISD, Iowa Park ISD, Notre Dame Catholic School and Christ Academy.
The physical therapists and athletic trainers at OSTC are dedicated to providing our patients with the best care possible. As part of that commitment, we believe it is important to provide you with the most current information regarding physical therapy and other programs available at OSTC. Our new Therapy Newsletter is OSTC’s way of reaching this goal. We hope that you will find this information helpful and relevant to your physical therapy and wellness needs.
